Best bits!

One of the great things about being a Headteacher is that you can join in with all the best bits!

Recently, I have joined in playing African drums with Y2, watched Y3 developing their swimming skills, played in the sandpit in the reception class and spent an afternoon with year 6 beginning to plan our Golden Years' celebration (Willow Wood Community Primary School opened in 1966).

We had several things to celebrate this week. Our squad of ten pupils in the ‘Quadkids’ team was fantastic and was placed second with a stunning 948 points. Our pupils showed their talents with Megan H running 75 meters  in 11.2 seconds, which was faster than any other competitor. Megan H and James F also jumped the furthest at 1.72m.  What a fantastic achievement!

This week our school hosted the Winsford Education Partnership (WEP) Pupil Forum. Mrs Val Godfrey, WEP Facilitator, spoke highly of our pupils and said that she would go away with a lasting impression of what a good school Willow Wood is. We were very proud of our pupils, who spoke so clearly about how they wanted to see Winsford change for the better. Their suggestion of providing a venue where young people can watch films within the Town is one of three suggestions, which will be presented to the Town Council in June.

Well done everyone!
