Buildings update - new Rainbow playground gate!

Date: 19th Sep 2017 @ 9:38am

At last the day arrived when we could open our new Rainbow Playground gate.

This gives direct access for Years 2, 3 and 4 and, as parents have said, is much better due to the width of the gate and open aspect. In the future we will place a big sign here to welcome families to our Rainbow Building. The school will also be painted in colours reflecting a rainbow - the children wanted the new build to be bright!

This week we will see the walls appearing on the new build, which consists of two reception classes and a nursery as well as a bespoke Early Years outdoor play provision. This is going to be an amazing Early Years department  of which Willow Wood can be very proud! This facility is due to be ready for December 2017 and we are hoping to move in and have an open event just before or just after Christmas!

For the spring term, Year 1 will move across to the Rainbow Building and there will be a new way of moving between the Sunshine and Rainbow Buildings so hopefully dropping children off at classroom doors will be more straightforward. Please talk to your childchildren's Teachers to clarify collection procedures at the end of the day to ensure your children's safety. Thank you for your patience but I hope that you agree it is worth it for the almost one million pound investment in Willow Wood by the Department for Education and Local Authority.

As Headteacher I am really excited at the thought of this amazing new build which our children, families and community can benefit from for years to come!
