Magical Music Making!

Wow, what a lovely way to spend a Wednesday!

Our Year 5 children were fabulous as they went to The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester to play with the Halle Orchestra. They performed on brass, woodwind and percussion instruments for two pieces, and sang along to two others. We were also treated to some amazing performances from the Halle themselves, including some music from 'Star Wars' as well as a bit of dancing as they took us on a journey through American Music. Well done children for some fabulous performing and excellent behaviour. It was also lovely to see you absorbed in the music, and paying close attention to what was being presented. Hopefully,  it will inspire some of you to continue your musical journeys too with further instrumental lessons.

Following a performance in one venue, there was a quick change-around for some of us (including the coach driver) as we got ready to go the the Crewe Lyceum to perform with choir. We opened the show, and really set the standard for the rest of the performances for the evening. We showed some sublime solo-singing within our overall choir sound, and our amazing choir were a brilliant team, well-focused and singing with great confidence and enthusiasm. The audience really enjoyed it. We are all really proud of you, both with the music and how you represented our school.

Thank you again choir and Year 5, it has been a privilege to share my love of music with you all today, and well done everyone who has been involved. You are all stars!
