Reception Reading Cafe

It was such a joy to watch parents & carers sharing books with their children at our Reception Reading café this week.
At Willow Wood we are passionate about helping our children become readers for life!
Mrs Wilcockson and Mrs Williams, our super reception teachers, shared top tips for supporting children to develop their reading skills. We know that if family members can spend just 10 minutes a day reading with their child it really has a huge impact on their child’s reading development.
Thank you for coming - another good example of partnership in action!
Meanwhile our older children enjoyed visiting the library and celebrating, ‘Harry Potter’ day.
I have to say one of the highlights of my week is Reading Club, when I have the chance to enjoy sharing and discussing a variety of texts with the lovely children in my group. Their comments, insights and stories never fail to amaze and amuse me!
