Residentials and Rainbows!

Date: 21st Mar 2019 @ 9:12am

I always feel like I have discovered the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when I spend time with children and staff on residential visits!

It was a pleasure and a delight to see the eagerness of the children as they tackled the orienteering challenge at Beeston Outdoor Education Centre. Stella, the leader there, was amazed as the children kept asking for harder and harder words to decipher by using the maps and finding the letters to decode the words. Well done children it was great to see all those character traits such as teamwork, perseverance, kindness and resilience that we value at Willow Wood in action - and we all learned the word, 'Orienterring'!

Thank you to all the staff who give generously of their time to lead these visits for our children - we know that we are building great memories!

Good news about the painting on the Rainbow building too. Following our recent 12 month rectification meeting, Crossfield Construction, has confirmed that they will be removing all the flaking paintwork and starting again! This will help us move towards our vision that our school should look fantastic from the outside as well as the inside! We hope the work will be completed during the spring holiday in April.
