SID & E safety officers

Date: 16th Feb 2015 @ 11:08am

The whole school thought about how to be safe and responsible users of the internet this week. Our E safety officers, whose job it is to lead this work in school, led  a super assembly reminding us how to be ‘SMART’ internet users and we all got involved with eSafety activities to mark S.I.D. (Safer Internet Day). We celebrate this day each year but teach our eSafety curriculum all year round.

Thank you to Mrs Graham, IT Leader who organized these activities.

Please note Thursday March 12th when parents and carers are invited into school, during the afternoon, to find out more about eSafety at Willow Wood.

This week we were really fortunate to hear about life in the Navy.

Did you know that Helen Curzon, one of our MDAs, once served the queen lunch, during her time in the Navy? Her partner came to share his experiences as a Naval Officer – have a look at the great photos on Ash’s class page!

The Juniors heard about Navy life from another visitor, Lee Moon, from Nautilus International. Lee took the trouble to write to Mrs Kay and me following his visit.

“Thank you for your hospitality last week and I must compliment you both and your staff on the way, I feel, the day went.

The children were all well behaved, attentive and asked some thoughtful and insightful questions. I have done many school visits during my previous job and this was one of the most enjoyable.”

Lee Moon, Navy Representative

The Year 4 Class Assembly was an amazing end to a great week and a fantastic half term.

Happy Half Term!
