Solar Eclipse Spectacular!

Date: 22nd Mar 2015 @ 6:07pm

There was a real buzz of excitement on the playground as I joined the children and staff on Friday morning to view the solar eclipse. The pupils of Willow Wood joined millions of other people from across the country to view this special event, which will not happen again until 2026.

The pupils had all made special pinhole viewers so that they could watch the eclipse safely. As the darkness grew and the temperature dropped we all stayed silent so that we could hear the birds, which had taken to the trees to sing their evening song! This was a great occasion that I shall certainly remember and I hope the children will do too! Please look on the class pages for photographs.

It was good to see so many happy and proud parents and carers in school this week sharing their children’s work.  As you could see the children have been working hard and making good progress while studying a broad and varied curriculum.

Thank you for all the positive feedback we received and for all the support you give your children with their learning. The interest of a parent or carer in their child’s education really does make a difference!
