Willow Wood has a supportive Governing body that works with the Head Teacher and staff to provide children with the highest quality education, encouraging them to develop and reach their potential.
The three core functions of a Governing Body are as follows.
Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent. (Governance Handbook January 2017)
The governors represent different sections of the community and play an active part in the life of the school. The Guide to School Governance explains the role and responsibilities of a school governor and we would encourage all to get involved with the school. Any further questions about the life and work of the Governing Body can be directed to Sue Stretton, Chair of Governors or Martin Bell, Head Teacher.
Part one minutes of the Full Governing Body termly meetings are available from the School Office, on request and located in the newsletter file, located at the front of school.
