Phonics
Beginning in Reception and right up until the end of Year Two, here at Willow Wood our children receive daily phonics sessions. Phonics is simply a strategy that helps children learn to read and write, by learning to recognise letters and sounds that they make.

We will be sending home sounds and words for the children to learn at home, as well as reading books, which will help your children become fantastic readers!
We have attached a video that tells you the sounds that we will be learning and how they are pronounced.
