Year 6

Anti - Bullying Week

The week shines a spotlight on bullying and encourages all children, teachers and parents to take action against bullying throughout the year. The theme this year is:

'All Different, All Equal'

Odd Socks day took place on the first day of Anti Bullying Week, Monday 13th November to help raise awareness for Anti-Bullying Week. It was designed to be fun and an opportunity for children to express themselves and appreciate individuality and uniqueness.

The Year 6 children took part in a classroom based session with a Police Youth Engagement Officer on the afternoon of Monday 13th November. The session focused on Internet Safety and gave the children the opportunity to ask any questions in order to keep them safe. Year 6 discussed the dangers of social media if not used correctly and watched a video clip to illustrate this.

Year 6 decided to draw around their hands and write a way that they could be an up stander instead of a by stander on each finger. This generated a super discussion and then the hands were used to create an Anti-Bullying tree.

The Year 6 also made cubes which they decorated with Anti-Bullying messages. This symboliseds that individually they are strong, but as a year group they are unstoppable at conquering the bullies.

Year 6 also have a display up in their classrooms to remind them to always be a 'STAR'
