Could you sit with a tarantula on your head, feel its weight and moving legs, without quaking? It was mind over matter time and our Redwood and Mulberry pupils were all put in a mind over matter situation last week when we brought in an expert on rainforest wildlife, together with some of that wildlife!
We were visited by; cockroaches, giant land snails, a giant millipede, a Columbian red tarantula, a royal ball python, a tree frog, a flat-rock scorpion with a bad temper and sugar gliders (complete with their Peppa Pig yoghurts!)
Each creature was taken around all pupils and nearly everyone gave the tarantula a stroke! Some pupils, as you will see in the pictures, even managed to wrap the python around their shoulders!
It was a wonderful, and most importantly, extremely informative session – we learned so much about the creatures and conservation.
