A fantasy world!

Over the last two weeks we have been really busy in Year 4. As well as starting our swimming lessons, we have been using ideas from 'Varmints' by Helen Ward to create our own fantasy stories. We have worked really hard to select the appropriate vocabulary to help tell our story, as Helen Ward chooses very few words but with maximum impact.
We have been continuing with our River Mersey and Liverpool topic, investigating how rivers are formed, and how the Mersey helped to develop Liverpool into the large city it is today. We have created a newspaper report about the Titanic too, and discovered that even though the ship never visited Liverpool, it is important for the city as its owners, 'White Star Line', were based there.
Last Friday, we all came dressed in our aspirational outfits. We were: artists, teachers, builders, gamers, fashion designers, singers, sports coaches, lawyers, magicians and policemen to name just a few. It was funny to see the staff dressed up too!
We are really enjoying our learning at the moment, and look forward to finding out more as we go through the term.
