Beeston & Books
Date: 6th Mar 2016 @ 7:59pm
I’ve recently enjoy two of my favourite parts of the spring term – joining Y3 on their first residential to Beeston Outdoor Education Centre and celebrating World Book Day along with a whole host of characters!
At Willow Wood we know that being immersed in learning during a 3 day residential visit with your friends and teachers can be the best way to learn!
I joined the children and staff at the gatehouse of Peckforton Castle where they were telling tales of seeing Rapunzel’s castle! It was such a delight to walk through the beautiful fields and woods with our leader Paul helping us to notice the sights and sounds of the countryside. The children tiptoed through the woodland in the hope of hearing a pheasant calling! We were all ready for our delicious meal of fish and chips or curry and rice when we returned to the Centre and you should have seen the smiles when there was chocolate cake and chocolate custard for pudding!
Well done Year 3 Team – you were amazing!
Promoting a love of reading is one of our passions at Willow Wood!
Thank you to all our fabulous parents who helped their children to dress up and came along to share our family reading time. The Reception children had a lovely time visiting the library and making bookworm bookmarks whilst the rest of the school enjoyed the World Book Day assembly led by Dracula (commonly known as Mr Shone!)
Please have a look at the class pages for some great photos and have look at this clip too!
