Bronze Award
Date: 27th Sep 2014 @ 11:21am
We have enjoyed another happy and successful week at Willow Wood.
The most exciting news was that we won the Bronze Award in the 'Schools in Bloom' competition.
Judges came to school during the summer term to visit the Year 6 Community Garden and were obviously very impressed. The important part was that the children had designed, developed and built the garden along with Community Artist, Sue Guildford from Junk Art Creations, with the help of family members and friends. I can certainly testify how hard everybody worked as I watched the garden grow outside my window!
Two of our Y6 pupils, Lewis Batin and Thomas Taylor, travelled to Ness Gardens with Mrs James and Mrs Jessop to receive the reward. It was very exciting as we didn't know we had won until the ceremony. The pupils represented our school really well and Mrs James and Mrs Jessop were very proud of them.
Well done Willow Wood!
