'Go Run For Fun!'
Date: 18th Sep 2019 @ 3:49pm
This afternoon, 17 children went to Moss Farm to take part in 'Go Run For Fun', which is run in conjunction with the organisers of The Great North Run. During the day, over 1700 children took part, and we were one of the many schools being represented.
We met Dart the mascot; and we also heard the Olympic and World Championship gymnastics medalist, Amy Tinkler, speaking about her career. She started gymnastics at a very young age, and was an Olympic Medalist at age 16! (Here is a link to her British Gymnastics Profile page: https://www.british-gymnastics.org/gymnast-profiles/84841/amy-tinkler)
After an energetic warm-up, we made our way to the start line in year groups. Amy sounded the klaxon and then we had to run a 2km course around the field. This included a hill near the beginning but we all did really well. When we crossed the finish line, we were all given medals to wear with pride and to keep. Even Mrs Millar, Mrs Harries and Mrs Ridgway completed the course, but Mrs Millar isn't happy that the teachers didn't get medals (or bright pink T-shirts)!
Most of us had fun, and we all completed the course well. Thank you too to Mrs Williams who kindly looked after our drinks and jumpers whilst we ran! We hope you like the photos.
