Govermors, Councillors and a Christmas Fair!

Date: 7th Dec 2014 @ 11:46am

This week seemed to be a week of meetings as I attended 3 Governor meetings in 2 days and finished the week with a School Council meeting.

Sue Stretton, Chair of Governors, presided over the autumn meeting of the Full Governing Body on Monday. She was pleased to welcome three new Governors to School, Sheila Dentith, Tricia Reading and Ron Stoneley; they all have a variety of experience, which will support and strengthen our School’s drive to be great. Minutes of these Governing Body meetings are displayed in School in the file along with the newsletters.

The Environment Committee also met and discussed, amongst other things, our desire to re-vamp the outside of School through decorating fascias and renewing doors. This is a process that will happen over time due to the cost of the project but the plan is that School will look great in charcoal grey and red by the end of the work! We will be asking for your feedback before we begin!

As a school we have been looking again at our vision and values and on Friday Mrs Stretton met with the School Council to find out what our children think. As always, our pupils were amazing and came up with some wonderful thoughts and feelings about how we want our School to be in the future and what is important to us at Willow Wood Community Primary School as we work together to be the best school we can be. Check out the School Council pages for more information!

The week ended with the wonderful buzz of excitement as family and friends enjoyed our Christmas Fair. Thanks to all members of the FOWWS for all their hard work behind the scenes planning for the fair and to anyone who contributed in anyway to this successful event – especially Santa!  A special thank you must also go to our choir for entertaining us so well – a great start to 2 weeks of festive activities in School.
