Happy New Year!!
Date: 9th Jan 2015 @ 4:22pm
Happy New Year and welcome back to Year 5!
We hope you all had a happy and safe Christmas and enjoyed spending time with your families. Father Christmas has been particularly kind this year by all accounts!
The children were absolutely fabulous in 'The Match Girl' performances at The Lifestyle Centre. They were a credit to the school and hopefully you all managed to get there to watch and support your child. Their Christmas 'Nativity/Choral performance' at the Church with the Year 6 children was also stunning and I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Robin Barfield from Wharton Church for his continued support.
The children came back to school looking re-energised and ready to start learning once again. We were kind and delayed their times tables test for 1 day but it is back to learning now! Times tables' tests continue each Monday and spellings' test each Friday.
Swimming has now finished and instead, the children have indoor PE on a Wednesday. Weather permitting, they will also have an outdoor PE slot on another day. Please ensure that your child has a PE kit in school at all times. In the interest of hygience, children should not be borrowing kits from others. We have been very clear from the beginning of Year 5 that PE kits need to be in school each day, and are disappointed each week when children do not have their kits and miss out on this essential part of the curriculum.
Please take the time to read the Year 5 Spring Term Curriculum Newsletter for more information about what the children will be learning this term.
