I recently had the opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament in my role of Chair of the Winsford Eduaction Partnership. I had been invited by Councillor Meardon (Cabinet Member for Children and Young People) to find out more about the 'Hearstone Odessey' project which children in Y6 and Y7 across Winsford are going to be taking part in.
This creative project is based around a magical tale which introduces children to ideas around injustice and prejudice in the world. I heard children and Teachers talking about what a powerful learning experience this story based project is and how children had grown in confidence, understanding and empathy through studying this text.
Mr Aspinall and Mrs Grigg can't wait to get started next term and we'll share the outcomes with the Y6 families!
