Learning Today for Tomorrow!

You may know that the children chose our school’s vision statement a few years ago, shortly after I arrived at Willow Wood Community Primary School.
‘Learning Today for Tomorrow’.
This week the School Council continued with their work around deciding on the values for our school. They met with the Chair of Governors and enjoyed reviewing the acrostic values poems that had been returned from the Family Learning Christmas Challenge.
The Councillors decided to celebrate all the contributions by displaying them in a book. They also agreed that each year group would choose one word and build their values around that word to reflect that values grow and develop as the children move through school.
Y1 - Learn
Y2 - Proud
Y3 - Teacher
Y4 - Determination
Y5 - Inspiration
Y6 - Willow Wood
Once the classes have decided, democratically, on the final version for each year group they will learn them off by heart. Anthony suggested that each class design a poster linked to the colour of their class trees, which Mrs Stretton and I thought was a great idea!
Working with our Councillors is really uplifting and we would like to thank them for all their contributions to school life.
