New Name for our School

Governors recently ratified a new name for our school.

Willow Wood Community Nursery and Primary School

Now we have provided high quality nursery education for the last two years and have relocated into our fabulous purpose built space we wanted to make it loud and clear how proud we are that our school provides a Nursery for 3 and 4 year olds in the local community. Therefore we have embedded the word, 'Nursery' into our name as this is where we believe the firm foundations for learning and development begin.

It is always a joy to go into the Nursery to learn and play alongside the children and the fabulous Nursery team. In the summer term the children will be spending lots of time exploring the outside world, riding bikes, washing babies and growing plants for example which all helps to develop minds and bodies keeping children happy healthy, here and learning. It is especially good to see the children playing together and building their self-confidence and friendships alongside their language skills.

In the summer term the children who will be starting the Reception class in September will have the opportunity to get to know the reception classroom and the staff team which will help when it comes to moving up time. Parents and carers will also be involved and encouraged to join in the process as well as supporting their children's learning at home, as we know that children thrive when home and school work closely together.
