Our Roman Standards

Our Roman Standards
Hazel and Lilac class joined forces and created our very own Roman Standards.
We made these Roman standards because we have been learning all about the Romans in our topic work in year 4. We have learnt that the Romans used these to identify which legion the soldiers belonged to. So as a result of this, we made our own standards.
First, we sketched our design onto a piece of paper.
Then, we used our design and copied it onto our piece of material.
Next, we used paints to colour in our design, we only used 2 or 3 colours because the Roman Standards did not have a lot of colour on them.
Later, we used our finger to make the pattern around the edge.
Finally, we got a black pen and drew around our design so that it would stand out.
Both classes thoroughly enjoyed making them .... Even the teachers!
