SPORTS WEEK

Date: 10th Jul 2018 @ 8:33pm

We had an amazingly busy week during National School Sports Week.

Over the course of a week the children from the reception class to year 6, and every age in between, took part in events ranging from football to dodgeball to tri-golf and tag tugby, a balance festival and a Run, Adventure, Challenge. There was an event for every age and also every ability during this fabulous week, arranged by our School Sports Partnership colleagues.

During the week 136 opportuntities were provided for pupils to participate and over 100 pupils took part!

Monday: Try-it Challenge Girls tag Rugby  Run, Adventure Challenge

Tuesday Tri-golf y3/4 and 5/6 Dodgeball

Wednesday : Total Sports, y3/4 and 5/6 football

Thursday Rec/y1 Balance Festival, Swimming gala and the only event to be cancelled due to the weather Duathlon

Friday: Y2 Mulltiskills and tag Rugby y3/4

As ever, our children were amazing and recognised for their sportsmanship and encouragement towards both each other and the opposition at times too. Pupils gained team certificates in school games values of Determination, Resilience and Perseverence

We held the 'Try-it Challenge on our field. Several schools took part and our young leaders from year 6 were again complemented on their leadership skills, organisation and also the encouragement which they gave to the younger children.

The week long programme of events is just one part of a competitive and participation based programme which we provide throughout the year for the pupils.
