A Good Start!

Date: 9th Sep 2017 @ 9:53pm

Thank you everyone for a good start to our new school year!

Firstly children and family members all managed to locate the right classroom entrance despite the fact that we all had new rooms to find! The staff had worked hard to make sure that the classrooms were all prepared as vibrant and well organised learning spaces for the children. I visited each classroom and it was great to see how the children had settled in so quickly and made a good start to the year.

The children all looked amazing in our first assembly so smart in their new uniforms and school shoes and they had remembered their good assembly manners brilliantly! As part of our new beginnings theme I welcomed everybody back to Willow Wood and we played a game to find out what everyone had been doing during the holidays. I also shared the reasons why my new school shoes are sensible and verging on the boring – so that they are fit for purpose and help me to do my job which involves a lot of walking around to admire all the learning that goes on in school!

The start of a new school year is a golden moment full of opportunity and this year is particularly exciting for everyone connected to Willow Wood as we look forward to the opening of our new Early Years building. Thank you for bearing with us during the alterations – hopefully when I write to you next week the tarmac will have been laid in the playground and the new gates in place adjacent to the Rainbow Building!

We have an exciting year ahead full of opportunities!

We're looking forward to the new school building opening. We are wondering whether there will be a bike shed for us in Sunshine Building.
In Mulberry, we think that is has been a good start to the school year too.
