Getting On and Falling Out

Date: 8th Nov 2014 @ 12:50pm

Welcome back to another busy, learning half term.

This half term our theme for Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) work is, 'Getting On and Falling Out', which includes a focus on the national, 'Anti-Bullying' week starting on 17th November. Therefore my welcome back assembly focused on respecting people from different cultures and faiths and we learned about the Hindu festival of Diwali. Ask your child to see what they remember!

I felt very proud as I showed 3 prospective Governors around our school this week. In all the classrooms the children were so immersed in their interesting learning activities that they hardly noticed us! I am delighted to tell you that all three visitors  have expressed a willingness to serve our schools as Governors. They all have skills and prior experiences which will strengthen and support our school and their appointment to the Governing Body will be considered at the autumn term meeting of the Full Governors. We will keep you informed.

We ended the week with a sea of red, white and blue in Celebration Assembly so thanks to all of you for supporting the Mayor's charities and helping us to get this Remembrance weekend off to a good start. Look out for Megan in Y6, the Junior Mayor, as she lays a wreath at the Winsford Cenotaph on Sunday.
