On line learning week beginning 1st February 2021

This half term our topic is ‘not all super heroes wear capes!’ We are going to be thinking about people who help us, how they help us and what they do.

This week we are going to be thinking about the police service, we are continuing to think about rhyming. This week we will be beginning to think about 3D shapes.

Try watching this ‘lets play’ clip about what police officers do.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPiFyEt3ry4

Can you mark make and tell your adult what a police officer does and how do they help us?

Can you ask your adult to hide a toy in the house and ask them for some clues, can you be a detective and go to try and find the hidden toy. Then can you hide the toy and give your grownup clues to find the toy.

Have a go at this fun dance activity, can you copy the moves.

Watch this little video clip that introduces 3D shapes

Can you find any 3D shapes in your house? What are they called? Can you remember their names?  Can you see any of the 2D shapes that we know on the 3D shapes?

Can you use some junk modeling to make a police officers badge. You could use collage materials or silver foil to make it silver. What shape are you going to make it?

Can you ask your adult to read these sentences, can you fill in the missing word at the end of the sentences. Maybe you could draw a picture for some of the missing words.
