Raising Aspirations - Careers assemblies 5 and 6

Date: 18th Nov 2018 @ 9:15pm

We would like to thank our latest 'Raising Aspirations' guests for taking the time to share their career experiences in our Thursday assemblies. Firstly, Mrs Kay discussed her role, qualifications and the key transferable skills required to make a successful microbiologist - a job which linked well to our STEM focus this term. Well done to Max who guessed correctly after some excellent questioning from the children. Secondly, we were really pleased to be joined by our first ever parent, Miss Bailey, who talked about her role and responsibility as an ambulance driver. Miss Bailey explained how she finds her job rewarding and has always been inspired to help others.  We also learnt about the importance of maths and English, the desire to work hard to achieve your ambitions and the transferable skills to be successful in the role, which included a caring and outgoing personality, good communication skills and good navigation and driving skills.

If you would like to volunteer to appear in a careers assembly in the future please contact Mr Aspinall.
