Reception do baking!

We've been baking! This week in Acorns and Saplings we have tried our hand at making cupcakes. We used the balance scales to follow a recipe where we had to balance the butter, sugar and flour with the egg on the other side. We then cracked our own eggs and mixed all of the ingredients together to make some delicious cakes which we then decorated ourselves. We had lots of fun and used lots of lovely mathematical language like 'weight', 'balanced', 'heavier' and 'lighter'. Our cakes were delicious!
