Sketching at the Pierhead!

Date: 17th Jun 2018 @ 9:34pm

The sun shone and the flags fluttered as the children sketched in the shadow of the Liver Buildings.

A group of keen artists from Y3 - Y6, parents and staff travelled to Liverpool to sketch the buildings. The finished product will brighten up Winsford station in a mural as part of the WEP, 'Adopt a Station' project. Each school in Winsford was allocated a destination that you can travel to by rail from Winsford and we were pleased to journey, courtesy of Network Rail, to Liverpool to capture the sights and sounds of this fine city. It was also exciting to cross the famous river on the way!

There was lots of walking and talking, awe and wonder. I'll never forget the moment one of the younger children ran up to the railings by the River Mersey and gasped, "The ocean!"

We all waved to Birkenhead, Ms Tomlinson's home town, and watched the Ferry crossing the Mersey!

Well done children you all behaved beautifully and it was a joy to spend time with you!
