Values Valued!

Date: 15th Apr 2015 @ 4:31pm

There were several spine tingling moments during our end of term celebration assembly as each year group presented their values acrostic poems to the rest of the school.

You may remember that earlier in the term School Councillors had looked at a selection of acrostic challenge entries, submitted by pupils and their families, to choose one to represent what we value at Willow Wood Community Primary School. It was noted that KS1 entries were significantly different to KS2 entries and for that reason it was agreed that each year group would have their own word to represent values for that year group.

Yr1      LEARN

Yr2      PROUD

Yr3      TEACHER

Yr4      DETERMINATION

Yr5      INSPIRATION

Yr6      WILLOW WOOD

The pupils certainly made us think deeply about the attributes and attitudes that we want to see displayed by everyone connected to Willow Wood. It was a very special and uplifting way to end a super spring term.

Thank you children we really value your contributions!

The next step is for the values acrostic poems to be turned into posters, designed by the children, working with a designer. Look out for the finished products which will be displayed in the classrooms and on our website!
