Year 1 visit to Reaseheath

Date: 8th Nov 2017 @ 7:27pm

Colourful Autumn at Reasheath College.

Year One had a fantastic trip to Reaseheath College near Nantwich, where we explored the woodland area and experienced a little of the farming life.  Sam, Felix and Kathryn from Reasheath, really made the day enjoyable.

First we found out what our challenge was.  We looked at art by the nature artist, Andrew Goldsworthy, and found out that we were going to create our own Andrew Goldsworthy style art pieces.  We went for an autumn walk, looked at the vibrant autumn colours and gathered resources for our art pieces.  The children loved playing in the fallen leaves!  We gathered lots of different coloured leaves and used these to make an autumn leaf rainbow.  The children did a fantastic job with their art!

After lunch we went to look at different types of apple trees, from one producing eating apples to one that produced tiny red apples that looked more like berries.  We got to taste three types of apples, saw an apple press used to make apple juice and got to sample it - it was much nicer than the shop bought juice!

The children were fantastic - we were very proud of them.

Thank you Reaseheath College for a lovely day, we hope that we can come back soon!
